Unlike no-cut printing, traditionally screen printing was the way people used to print promotional items. This especially covered the printing of t-shirts, hoodies, handkerchiefs, ‘lessos’, and umbrellas. However, with constant evolution in print technology, people find new ways to simplify their print processes. Whether it is for commercial or domestic print production, human beings constantly invent ways of ensuring everyone’s needs are covered. It’s for this reason people invented no-cut Printing, also known as DTF printing or no-weed printing.
If you are an aspiring entrepreneur who wishes to start a t-shirt printing business, you need to know what no-cut printing is. Take advantage of my years of experience in Kenya’s printing and branding industry, and make the right decision.

What is No-cut printing?
No-cut printing is a new printing technology that uses a double head to print on a film that passes through an adhesive and heating chamber before cooling off. The No cut printing machine is also referred to as DTF printing or no-weed printing machine. It’s almost similar to a large-format printing machine but uses a double head.
The gains of the introduction of DTF printing to the Kenyan Industry.
The introduction of DTF printing in Nairobi brought in something different to what we were used to. It’s seamless nature of printing enabled DTF printing to gain massive popularity in a very short time. This is because it took away, the many processes in screen printing that seemed to consume a lot of time. In screen printing, you have to prepare a screen, do color separation, set the screen before you get to the printing stage. No-cut printing in Nairobi became extremely popular, because it took away all these processes. It enabled printing companies in Kenya deliver faster than in the past.
This type of printing makes full color printing on garments so easy. No-weed printing simplifies the printing of t-shirts, hoodies, umbrellas, towels, dustcoats, overalls and other types of garments.
How different is DTF printing from Direct to Garment printing? (DTG)
Both of these types of printing does the same thing. Well, in a way. They print on garments. DTG printing has been around long before direct to fabric printing. The downside of direct to garment printing is, it is limited to flat bed printing. The no-weed printing (DTF) is also more cost-effective for more complex designs compared to DTG printing. However, DTG printers excel in situations where you would need to print fabrics for some types of banners e.g teadrop banners, telescopic, pop-up banners and backdrop banners.
